It is true all of the things that my mother saw in me as a child. I have over the years tried to prove her wrong about me. Tried to live a life that wasn't me as it were. But as I've grown older and hopefully grown wiser, I've realized that someone having your ticket isn't necessarily a bad thing. And momma had my ticket.
As I list my litany of nick names and phrases that I was labeled with as a child, you will come to some idea as to the sort of personality that lies within me.
My mothers' favorite was “Mr. Instigator”. Closely followed by, “If you had half a brain, you'd be dangerous.” Also, “Sometimes Ollis you're too damned smart for your own good,” often followed by, “You're so smart that you outsmart yourself.”
“Sneaky, thieving, manipulative, selfish, uncaring, and a liar.” All of these things are true. Yet I am a good man and I was a good child.
You see in my family these things were not insults as they would be in most other families. My mother was not only an intellectual, but she was raised on some of the most dangerous ground in the U.S. The southern regions of Texas and New Mexico. Her knowledge of the streets was as much a part of her as was Chaucer, Shakespeare, or the penal codes.
So when momma whooped my butt it wasn't because I did something wrong or something illegal. It was because I was stupid enough to get caught. She worked very hard at getting me to use my mind, to think for myself. Her feelings about the laws was that they were meant for the sheep who were going to sit in their nice comfy homes and churches and wait for the slaughter to begin. After all that's what good citizens do, right?
School was a whole other affair. My grades were average at best and mediocre at worst, and this she could not tolerate. For me report card time was usually ass whipping time around the Offing home. And I know what you're thinking. Either the kid is stupid, has some type of learning disability, or behavioral anomaly that manifested at school.
And you'd be wrong. My I.Q. While I've always played the game is definitely above average. My problem in school was not that I didn't get the materials, my problem was that I got the materials but I didn't want said officials to know just how much I knew or just how smart I was.
You're probably shaking your heads thinking back to your own childhood educations and how much you wanted to be acknowledged for being smart. And you can't imagine what kind of mind wouldn't want the same adulation for achieving the goals set forth by the educational systems.
Like I said before, my child hood was different. My mother recognized the spark of intelligence in me and wanted me to become a lawyer or a politician. The problem with teaching a child to think for themselves is that they think for themselves, and I wanted no parts of the political, fascist, greed centered regime.
I'm smart enough to realize that true thinkers do not succeed in these arenas. Your ideas are always relevant and timely, this is a threat to those who simply want to maintain the status quo.
If your agenda is change and you are known for pursuing it with dogged tenacity, then you make more enemies than friends because you jeopardize their power bases and income potential.
So instead I drop bread crumbs. Little pieces of the knowledge that I have gained from living outside the system all my life. Being free in spirit and in mind. I don't attend a regular church every Sunday because they won't have me. I'm a radical. It's amazing to me that in the 21rst century they still label original thinkers as heretics.
But here is one of those bread crumbs, and you can take it for what it's worth to you. If you believe in a Spirit that is so all in encompassing that everything in the universe is made by this Being, then by reason and logic, this Being has no limits or boundaries. Yet most churches have some creed or dogma that supports some type of limit on the power of that One.
Some believe the trinity cannot logically exist because reason tells us that no one can be three people and one person at the same time. Yet with your next breath you say that this very same Being had the power to create all that is in existence and not only created it but knows it so intimately that It knows every grain of sand and every hair on our heads. And if this is not sufficient to show Its power then how about time? This Being is so great that there is no such thing as time for It. The past, the present, and the future are all one simultaneously to this Being.
How can a reasoning, thinking, logical people believe that a Being so Omnipotent as to hold whole universes in It's palms could ever be bound by what we think of it?
I want you to understand that this is not an exhortation to believe in a God or Gods, this is an exhortation to use your own mind and think for yourself. The time has come brothers and sisters for us to think for ourselves. Take a chance. You may right, you may be wrong, but at least your thoughts were original and not just the filtered, regurgitated, gobbledygook, taught to us by people who have a vested interest in seeing us remain sheep.
Find your own way. Is magic real? Do dragons, fairies, and trolls exist? Can people really levitate? Are there people who can really read minds? Is there life, physical life in our solar system beside us? Do angels really exist? Is there a fourth dimension? Is there life after death? Are there truly cities under our oceans that have been there for thousands of years without us being aware of them? Are dolphins and whales really more intelligent than us? Are the pyramids just burial chambers or are they much much more? Can a simple human just like you and me, truly become more, truly become a super human, meta-human, or homo luminous? Is there really a God?
Find the answers to these questions for your self. Search for yourself. Dig up your own research and come to your own conclusions regarding them. Because even if you are wrong in your conclusions, your right in your journey for seeking the answers on your own.
The established system wants you to go to school, get an education that they have deemed worthy. Move on to a secondary institution where they give you more useless, yet expensive fodder to consider. Then move out into the work place and be a cog in the wheel of society. Don't question authority, don't strive to be excellent, don't live by your own code of ethics and do what's right in your heart. Don't question the laws of the land that inflict harm and injustice on various groups of people. Do not ask yourself why we have the ability to track a human being all over this earth from space, yet we can't win the war on drugs. Do not ask yourself why we invaded a country full of oil and yet our gas prices are still as expensive as they were before we invaded. Don't ask yourself why there were no weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq. Don't ask yourself why your tax dollars paid to bail out institutions that have been disingenuous with our hard earned money. Where was your bail out? Did these very same institutions wipe your debt free and clear because the economy is bad? Or do you still owe them your very lives, homes, vehicles, and credit card debt?
And what ever you do, please do not assume that I have the answers to solve these problems for I am just like you. A cog in a wheel.
But know this, that not for one moment am I fooled by the blizzard of lies being stuffed down my gullet by the media nor am I deceived by the fake resolves of politicians vying for office.
I simply stand resolute in my belief in the general principles of human rights and dignity. I stand by the right of people to be able to feed themselves and their families without bartering the future of the upcoming generations to do it.
I believe in a world where there are no boundaries, no political agendas hidden behind words as sweet as honey to the ears. I believe in a world where all of my brothers and sisters are as one. I believe in a world with no Americans, no Russians, no Jews, no Muslims, no Commoners parties or Republicans.
I believe in a world where there is no need for the alphabet soup of the police state regime we live in. CIA, NCIS, CID, FBI, NSA, ATF, DEA, NSC, IRS, Secret Service, Border Patrol, Naturalization and Immigration, Marshals, Constables, Sheriffs, Police, or any other institution that answers to the DOJ.
My final statement regarding the affairs in our country is that I do not believe in anarchy and as a whole I believe that the men and women of these institutions work extremely hard to do the impossible missions set before them. But unfortunately for them the deck is stacked against them. They have a saying in Las Vegas, “You can't beat the house.”
If you would stay a sheep and you find this state of affairs acceptable then may you find solace in your heart when they come for you, and come for you they will.
But at the very least know that this Orwellian Dictatorship of the privileged few is a house of cards that cannot stand. A pyramid whose greatest weight rests at the top of the pyramid will eventually crush it's base. That is the law of physics in this world. No shape in nature gets larger as it gets higher, all things in nature get thinner as they get taller or higher. Trees, mountains, grass, animals, etc.
So if you have taken the time to read this incredibly long narrative, kudos to you. It would seem that you have some interest in thinking for yourself, and that is the purpose of this piece.
Don't do anything drastic or crazy in response to the feelings that this generates, just be as loving, kind, caring, and responsible for those in your sphere of influence as you can. As the Buddhists are fond of saying, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” May grace and peace accompany you as you walk the path of the adept. Oh and by the way, we are all adepts.

- I have discovered that the more I journey, the more I see, and the more I see, the more I despair. So I spend most of my time studying, chanting, praying, meditating, and laughing. I couldnt face the world I face every day without the help I receive from above.
